Challenge !

Please write a blogpost about a major academic hurdle/challenge you have faced during college. Describe the challenge, how did youovercome it? Or, how do you plan to overcome it?




This is my second time in college , the first time was back in 2008 I attended John jay college for criminal justice after one short month of school I dropped out. I was never a big fan of school , especially when I was in high school. I rarely ever attended my sophomore and junior years of high school, everyone older than me warned me I was making a huge mistake but being as hard headed and stubborn as I am I never chose to listen. I thought I had everything figured out.  I couldn't have been more wrong. Which brings me to my major academic  challenge I have been faced with ,since starting my first two semesters back in college. In every one of my classes , I find myself feeling extremely dumb. There is so much common knowledge that the other college students have that I lack. Such as history dates, English terminology and most importantly math problems. I find myself faced with the lack of so much knowledge that I should already have , most times I have to do double the work due to not knowing this important information. I haven't necessarily overcome this academic challenge as of yet , but I am working towards completing just that. I currently am working on over coming this challenge by staying focused on school completing as much work as I possibly can and allowing myself the opportunity to gain as much knowledge now that I am back in school as I possibly can. Trust me it is not easy at all. Most days I want to just give up , but then I stop and realize Im in my predicament now due to giving up on my education and that is a mistake that I refuse to make again. I will be working my behind off to finish my degree at Lauguardia community college. I will not give up until I accomplish just that. 

Summer Handbags

Hey there Dolls,

I am back to ladies fashion today! Today I will be covering all of the summer handbag must haves! A lot of people do not pay alot of attention to handbags but I DO! I love handbags! I have tons from expensive name brands to forever21 and urban outfitters. Every outfit lady requires a specific hand bag!


The first handbag I want to tell you ladies about today are NEON! Neon handbags are great to spruce up an all white outfit or even an all black outfit. Neon can be worn with simple jeans and a t-shirt, or a cute skater skirt and muscle t-shirt.

Next I'm going to introduce you ladies to the biggest fashion trend out right now the Clear (see through) Handbag trend going. The clear bag trend I am not to found of, I do not see the thrill in having others see your personal belongings through your pocket book. But I have seen many many ladies pulling this pocket book off while looking fabulous doing so, all over tumblr. For the Clear pocket book trend, I will say ladies use your imagination, and creativity, with a clear bag I mean can you really ever pair it wrong?

The Cross Body, is one of my summer favorites. I love the hands free ability it offers. It also looks extremely cute with shorts and a tank top, leggings and a tunic, or even jeans and sneakers. There is never a wrong time or place to wear a cross body bag unless you will be attending a ball of course. :)

The Straw Bag is perfect for summer time! Straw bags look great with summer dresses, especially if you will be attending a BBQ, or a Beach and or Pool Party. Straw Bags give a look of originality and individuality most young females would not be caught dead wearing a straw bag. Ladies if you ask me I say GO for it.

Last but not least Every female must must must own at least one tote bag. This is an essential for errands, beach, gym, school anything. A tote bag fits right on your shoulder and holds SO much! I am unsure about you dolls, but I carry EVERYTHING in my purses. In the summer you usually try to wear the least amount of clothing and shoot for comfy and cool at all times, a tote bag is the perfect pocket book to complete that look.

Men Summer Essentials

Hey Dolls so today I was surfing the web doing some shopping for my boyfriend and I decided that I would bring to you ladies the top 10 trending men fashion pieces for summer! Hopefully it will help you ladies in one way or another. 

1. Suede lace up shoes- other wise known as oxfords. I personally love this look on a man. Suede lace up shoes can be worn with a nice pair of shorts and a button up, or a nice pair of jeans and a simple v-neck. Oxfords are a MUST have for every man's closet. 

2. Destroyed Denim- I'm not to found of destroyed denim or the prices being charged for them, but they are EVERYWHERE. The good thing about destroyed denim, is you can pretty much pair them with anything. 

3. Camouflage- This trend has been around for men FOREVER. Personally I love camouflage on a man, especially if they are worn the right way! Camouflage can be worn with anything really, its one of those neutral closet pieces every man MUST own. the camo trend has even spread to men's shoes now. Below i attached a picture, of a camo summer ankle boot for men. Below I attached a picture of my boyfriend rocking a pair of camo shorts, with a heather grey and blue sweater, with heather grey blue and red argyle socks and Jordan's. 

4. Patterned Shirts- Patterned shirts are big now for men, they have taken a twist of the normal button up shirt and allowed men the opportunity to express themselves while having a little bit of fun. The patterns do not have to be dramatic or over the top it can be something very subtle.

5. Navy Suit- The Navy Suit is the new BLACK SUIT for men. Its just as sophisticated and professional as the regular boring black suit you always see on men. Finally we are allowing men the opportunities to allow there personalty to shine through. 

6. Stripes - Stripes are HUGE for men right now. I recently just purchased a ton of striped Tanks for my boyfriend from H& M and Urban Outfitters. Stripes are everywhere, shorts, pants, shirts, shoes, accessories. Stripes allow you to be simple yet not boring. 

7. Flowers- I know ladies you are all probably are saying men in flowers? Well yes they brought floral print into mens fashion. I think its great, recently my boyfriend picked up a floral crew neck sweater from Zara, and I personally LOVED it on him. I love how floral print when not over done allows a man to be gentle and soft, yet allows them to still be masculine

and strong. 

8. Neon- Neon is appearing in the men fashion world now as well, not as much as its being tossed around within women's clothing and accessories but its showing its name. A big trend for men now are to have neon running sneakers. I love it , I find it so cute. 

9. Tote- A tote is the perfect man bag. Every man whether they will admit it or not needs a bag to use. The tote bag is perfect! They are offered in multiple different styles and shapes and even colors, it has a masculine look and allows a man to carry all of there necessities while making a fashion sense at the same time. 

10. Shades- I love men who wear shades, gives them such a lusty mysterious feel. Personally I love aviators on a man, and the Ray Ban Square frames. Different shapes are a must for men, they need a funky chill pair which would be the square frame Ray Bans and a sophisticated pair which is where the aviators come in. Below you will find three pictures. The first two are simple Aviators. The last picture is my boyfriend wearing the square shaped Ray Bans. 

10 Summer Essentials for women

Hey there dolls, as you all know summer is quickly approaching, so you know that means SHOPPING TIME! Today I am going to cover the top 10 things all you gorgeous ladies need to make the best fashion statement this summer.

1. The Muscle Tee- The muscle tee is a t-shirt designed for women, but is cut and made with the appearance as if you stole the shirt from your boyfriend or favorite guy friend. You can pair this shirt with almost anything, a nice pair of jeans with sneakers. A skater skirt with sandals, or even shorts and combats. You can purchase these muscle tee's anywhere from forever 21 to Bloomingdale's. Below I have attached two pictures, the first is of me wearing my plain white muscle tee with black riding pants and a cute simple plain red toms, comfy and casual. The second picture is a graphic muscle tee, which is a huge hit right now. I personally love them . 

 
















   

 2.  The Statement Necklace- The statement necklace has been around since winter time, but it just keeps     following us from season to season, it is the perfect way to spruce up a other wise simple outfit. Personally i have about 5 statement necklaces, I just cant get enough. Below I attached a picture of a perfect summer statement necklace. 

   3. Square frames- Square framed sunglasses are big every summer, but this summer it seems like its the BIGGER the BETTER ladies. 

 4. Wedges- Wedges are the perfect summer sandal! They allow you to dress causal yet look and feel sexy. They can turn a average maxi dress into a WOW ! check that girl out dress. Wedges are also great if your not a heel type of girl. They are easy to walk in and super duper comfy. Wedges are always in style too, unlike different heel lengths. 

 5. The clear heel- The new trend are Clear Heel pumps, wedges, boots, and sandals. This gives the perfect futuristic look to any outfit. It allows you to dress simple, yet give yourself a pop with a scandalous shoe. 

 6. The Kimono- The Kimono is also a very big trend right now, I personally do not own one, but I am dying to get my hands on a cute one! Kimono's are a perfect change from the normal cardigan, you can pair your kimono with a cute short and tank outfit, or a cute bodycon skirt and tight shirt , or even a bodycon dress. 

7. Floral Print- Floral print has been big since spring time, but its coming right along with us into summer! everything from floral pants, shirts, tanks, skirts dresses! Even Purses and shoes! I love the floral trend gives us dolls an opportunity  to really just be girly. 

 8. Ombre- So ombre started off with hair color only but now has expanded to clothes! they have so many beautiful dresses with the ombre effect out! Its another summer essential on my list to pick up. 

 9. Maxi Dress/ Skirt- The maxi dress is still around dolls, personally I do not see this trend EVER  going out of style. I have not meet a woman yet who has not fallen in love with the maxi. They are perfect for BBQ, the beach, dinner, drinks, hanging out even running errands. Maxi dresses can be dressed up or down depending on where you are going. 

10. Gladiator Sandal- The gladiator sandal has been out since last summer  but is still around and in a much stronger force now! A large number of well known designers have actually produced many gladiator shoes for this summer. Jimmy Choo, Stella McCartney, Prada just to name a few. The gladiator sandal looks great with simple tight fitting dresses, and even cute shorts and a tank, my utmost favorite outfit to pair the gladiator sandal with is a cute skater skirt, a corset and the gladiator sandals. 

Dolls, that completes the top 10 essentials you will need to look your best this summer. I hope this blog was helpful to all of you.

Originality

Hey there dolls , 

Usually, I bring to you guys weekly blogs about different style pieces that are in season or what to do with pieces from old seasons that are still trending in our current season , but today I would like to do something a little bit different. Today I will just be talking , and talking about originality in style. 

See in today's society we lack so much originality. Majority of what we wear and say come from what others consider "trending now" and it's kind of sad , especially in the fashion world , style fashion and originality is something that comes hand in hand with each other. 

Someone's style can never be wrong , style reflects a persons personality there originality. What one may like you may not but that's not your call to judge or discriminate against because you do not like that other individuals style. 

I think we all need to work on finding what WE like , forget about what Kim K is wearing , or Cassie or the runway models , or even the designers and there trends. 

Basically ladies I'm just trying to say is embrace what you like and what you don't like. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and why you think makes you look beautiful.

Spring Hair

Hey there dolls, 

Well with spring in full effect now, a bunch of new hair styles are flowing all over the place. Today I will be telling you all about the great hairstyles you ladies should try and use this spring. 

Lets get started with the High and Low bun. You can wear a high bun, with almost anything, from a nice dress, to jeans and a t-shirt. Where as a low bun is way more formal, and should be worn with elegant dresses or a pants suit. There are many different types of buns, you have the high messy bun the high sleek bun, the low messy bun, the low sleek bun, the low wrap up bun.

Another familiar and one of my favorite hair trends out right now is the pony tail. I personally always loved doing a ponytail, i have very long and thick hair so throwing my hair in a pony always seemed like a great idea to me. A lot of girls now are wearing the messy pony, the sleek back pony. This trend is remaining popular due to fashion icons such as Kim Kardashian. 

Now for my ladies who have naturally curly hair it is your time to shine, big curls and natural Afros are in style. I personally wish i had huge curly hair i love it and i think it makes a woman so unique. 

Last but not least are the Poetic justice braids, now this is a trend i personally could go with out. I wasn't a huge fan of it back when Janet Jackson rocked them and I'm definitely not a fan of them now, but with celebrity icons like Beyonce wearing them , you all know that the young teens and even some older woman had to get on the same trend.
